This weekend Antoan, my boyfriend, and our friend Archie went exploring through Downtown Los Angeles. First, we went to the new museum, The Broad, which was AMAZING. It is definitely a must see in our opinion! Since we had to reserve our tickets ahead of time, the only available time was 2:00 PM and we had arrived at 12, so we made our own little make-shift picnic in the grassy area outside the museum until it was time to head in.
Then, we had to make a crucial stop at Bottega Louie. It is one of my favorite restaurants in DTLA, they serve modern American cuisine which is delicious, but let me tell you, leaving with anything less than a box of french macaroons just is not acceptable.
(seriously, I promise you will not regret it)
We slowly made our way to Little Tokyo to wander in search of frozen Mochi balls and after a successful journey, we made our way back up to our car at The Broad.
It certainly was a wonderful weekend and I cannot wait for many more to come.
I hope you all had an exciting and adventurous weekend!
Thank you so much for reading along with me.
XO,
Rachael Arlene

5 Tips for Healthier Hair...

One thing we usually forget to do when brushing our hair is to actually brush it from root to tip! The reason is because the oils your scalp produces is what keeps your hair healthy, and if your ends are weak, it's because it is lacking oil.
This can be hard especially if you have naturally curly hair, like we do, but if you brush it before bed when no one is around (or even before the shower), your hair will surely thank you!
Next is using oil on your ends, like we said in step one, your scalp naturally produces oil, but if you don't brush your hair properly or enough, this is where oil comes in handy! For us, it is really hard to brush our hair every like we are supposed to as a great substitute we use oil to give our ends the little extra love they need!
Deep Conditioner is AMAZING, and this little packet is literally only TWO DOLLARS!! (how can you beat that?!) If you use heat on your hair or even just blow dry on a regular basis, your hair gets pretty beat up. Just like you would pamper your skin with scrubs or lotion to exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin, deep conditioner allows your hair to absorb nutrients it might be lacking. PLUS, it makes your hair smell delicious and feel so soft, so it is a win all around!
Trims are something everyone believe we need on a semi-regular basis, but the truth is you actually don't! Your hair does not need to be trimmed every 6 weeks like we might think, it needs to grow and with the help of the first few tips, you will start to realize your ends are not as bad as you think!
(keep the extra 20-70 dollars your trims cost and save it for more of once a year or twice a year cuts!)
Heat is the number one ruiner to hair and we KNOW how crucial it seems to be in our daily lives, even if it is just a little bit here and there. But try to embrace your natural hair and reduce your heat use to maybe once or twice a week instead of EVERYDAY.
If you can't stay away from the heat, at least use a protectant spray to coat your hair before you apply heat to it. Not only do the sprays smell good, but they will save your hair a boat-load of damage in the long run!!!
I hope you keep us in mind the next time you go to do your hair and don't forget to check out my besties style/music blog, www.Style2Beatz.com!!
Thank you so much for reading along.

(Had to catch when my live Tweet was shown on the Mega tron!! There is nothing wrong with a little self-promotion haha)
(I SPY MY CHILDHOOD CRUSH, SHARKBOY aka TAYLOR LAUTNER!!!)
(Trey Songz is totally smiling that Taylor coming to his performance lol)
( Yes, I truly think Nicholas Petricca, from Walk the Moon, is pointing at me)
This is the first festival I have ever been to and it is safe to say it was an Experience! Almost as soon as we arrived, my roommate and I headed straight for the crowd. A few minutes of singing and snapchatting obnoxiously, we met a couple girls who soon became part of our little group. Funny how a simple compliment or comment at all could be the start of a new friendship!
Soon all four of us began the push to make our way to the front of the crowd. Slowly but surely we made our way to two rows away from the stage. It was not easy, after a few rude people and a lot of shoving, it was totally worth it! (as you can see above, the perks of being at the front we got the chance to spot the celebrities that wanted to enjoy the show with the privacy of being in front of the gate, TOTALLY made my childhood crush start all over again after seeing Taylor Lautner three feet from us.
After about half the festival went by, I was more than ready to leave the crowd and make my way for the shade and grass to happily sit down (even with wearing Birkenstocks, one of my most comfortable shoes, I still needed a break to sit down) and sing along to the artists in the comfort of my own personal space and fresh air, something the crowds just do not have haha.
My Sophomore year in High School a friend of mine got her and I tickets to Walk the Moon as a birthday gift, and it was one of the best concerts of my life so to see them again was AMAZING! Yes, even though I was all the way in the grass when their set came on, I am convinced that Nicholas Petricca was pointing at me.
Someone once said "You cannot download a live musical experience", and that is so true!! This weekend is one that I will always remember and cherish because it does not matter how made more concerts or festivals I attend, this will always be my first.
I hope that you all cherish the new memories you make everyday, because there is always going to be a first time for everything. Embrace that, no one can take away memories.
Thank you so much for reading along!

So, this weekend my roommate and I went to Las Vegas for the Iheart Radio Music Festival.
I was born in Las Vegas and lived there until I was about 10 or 11, so going back it sort of feels like another home especially when I get the luxury to stay at my Auntie Julie's house, BUT my roommate had never been to Las Vegas before so it was sort of fun to be able to play tourist instead of just hanging out at my families house the night we got in.
First stop we made was in the center of the strip at a somewhat new little area called Linq. It was the perfect introduction to Las Vegas, she saw the craziness as we walked to the Linq, but was able to relax and take it all in as we wondered around there.
Then, we moved across the street to The Forum Shops, this is one of my personal favorite spots on the strip because it feels like you are outside even if it is 11:00 PM (which it was when we started walking). The outside of the building is just beautiful, and I become more and more obsessed as we continued on our walk through the shops. We finished our night meeting up with my roommates Aunt and Uncle for dinner at Carmines. Boy was it delicious, but the portions were GIANT. No, I am not exaggerating when I say the whole pasta plate was the half the size of me!! Needless to say, there was definitely no room for desert. I think it was the perfect way to start our weekend getaway.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed yummy food and new places like I did!!
Thank you so much for reading all, stay tuned to see more from this weekend.
XO,
Rachael Arlene
