This past weekend, Antoan and I decided to have a little fun while decorating my apartment for fall. We heard that Sprouts was having a 72 hour sale on Pumpkins, awesome right?! So, we picked up our favorites along with a pit stop at Lowe's to get some flowers to match with our new pumpkins!

Painting pumpkins has become sort of a tradition in my family, but since I didn't have time to paint our pumpkins back home, Antoan and I decided to do it together this year.
If any of you know me, you know I love anything Mackenzie Child's, especially her fall decor. The only thing I don't love about her products are the price!! SOOO... I decided to theme my pumpkin off of her signature checkers and Antoan decided white with gold polka dots to compliment. It was so much fun painting and getting to see Antoan's artsy side. After painting, we went for little bike ride to give the pumpkins time to dry before we set up my front stoop.

Then we finished the night with a trip to the movie theaters and watched The Martian in the AMC Prime seats(and to think that Studio Movie Grill spoiled me with yummy food and comfy chairs, these seats were a BAJILLON times cozier)!!! The Martian was actually so good, I didn't think I would like it as much as I did, but I highly recommend it!

I hope you all have a great day and take a night off to go see The Martian!
Thank you so much for reading along.

It is safe to say that I mastered the art of extending my birthday celebrations as long as possible! Haha After a weekend home celebrating, I finished off my official birthday weekend with a dinner with my best friend Kavita at one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown LA, Botegga Louie. Besides the fact they are known for their sweets, their food is pretty delicious as well!
After dinner, we headed home for a movie night. After all the delicious food and sweets, we were put into a food coma... SERIOUSLY. We crashed like 15 minutes into the movie. Haha Regardless, it was a perfect night and I am so lucky to have friends like Kavita in my life to celebrate nights like that with.

I hope you guys over celebrated your weekend, just like I did!
Thank you so much for reading along.

My dad always tells me when I visit back home that I need to find new restaurants to go to. SOOO, I did just that for my pre-birthday dinner. I chose the restaurant called Cafe Monarch. I felt like I was in a fairytale movie from the moment I stepped foot inside. The atmosphere alone sold me online, but seeing it in person was a whole other experience that I will never forget. Waiters and waitresses all dressed to the 9's held open the doors as we passed the indoor seating for the courtyard dining, and boy am I glad I asked to sit outside.

If any of you follow me on snapchat (@itsrachaelduh) you saw how cute it was in the few videos and photos I posted, but if you don't LOOK ABOVE! I am serious when I say the pictures do not do it justice. Minus the clothes of other guests, you could easily mistake the courtyard for somewhere in California, or even Paris (It is that cute!).

Okay, I am done obsessing about the atmosphere, now on to the food... as if your mouth didn't water enough from the pictures, imagine actually eating it. YUM. Probably one of the best dinners I have had in a looooong time, and my parents always spoil me with delicious meals when I am home, so that is truly saying something.

As if you weren't sold already, they heard it was my birthday and gave our table a Rum Cake with coffee ice cream and pine nut sauce topped with a sparkler and ON TOP OF THAT, they gave me a birthday gift.

Then, my parents and I finished off the night with my favorite cake from Nothing Bundt Cake, and played with different candles for fun pictures.

Needless to say, it was yet another perfect night with my parents back home.

Day at the Pumpkin Patch...

9:00 AM Rachael Schaeffer 0 Comments

I went home to Arizona for a pre-birthday celebration with my parents and for the past few years it has become a tradition to go to a Pumpkin Patch and pick out our favorite pumpkins to decorate the house with. This year, we went to the McDowell Mountain Ranch Pumpkin Patch and it was even cuter than I last remember.

Someone once said, "Age is just merely the number of years the world has been enjoying you" and the pumpkin patch reminded me how much I enjoy the little things this world has to offer. When is the last time you played kiddie games, or went to a pumpkin patch, or did something childish and fun??

If the answer is "I don't know" or "I don't remember" plan a date with your girlfriends, boyfriend, a group or even drag your family and GO TO A PUMPKIN PATCH.

I am so serious, my parents and my best friend, Giully and I had such a blast playing games others would say we were to old for. We got to mine for gold(we overheard the cutest thing from a kid talking to his parents about all the gold he had collected in his baggy, "I want to put all this gold into the car, but I am scared it will melt and we won't be rich" HOW CUTE IS THAT?), we took silly pictures in murals, we went in the mini petting zoo, and finally, my absolute favorite part, we went on a hay ride to the hidden pumpkin patch. After we picked to many pumpkins to carry, we took the hay ride back to the front and headed home for the day.

Needless to say, it was an amazing day in my book!

I hope you all head out to your favorite pumpkin patch and have a blast like we did!
Thank you so much for reading along with me.
