Study Break...

It has not even been a full week of school yet, and I am already cherishing every "study break" I can get! With balancing school with work, on top of my boyfriend and friends, it gets to be a tad overwhelming. But with time management, a little understanding and a lot of hard work, it can be done!
A wise person once said, "Life isn't perfect, but your outfit can be" and it couldn't be more true. Since school has started and work has gotten busier, my schedule is a lot more hectic, but that doesn't mean your outfit should show it.
While I am at school I tend to gravitate towards dresses, rompers or jeans because of how chic they are with little to no effort.  I love this skirt and crop top combo because it is white, light and breezy. Which is perfect for this Burbank heat!!

So remember, next time you are stressed out over class or work, take a step back, breathe, throw on your cutest outfit and conquer the day!

DIY Cucumber Mint Scrub...

11:53 AM Rachael Schaeffer 0 Comments

This scrub DIY Cucumber Mint Scrub is so simple and easy and has many fabulous benefits you probably never even knew about!

I don't know about you, but with school about to start I know that I will be spending most nights staying up studying in addition to stress. Cucumber not only smells refreshing but it also fades dark circles under your eyes, it reduces puffy eyes, improves completion, treats sunburns, and tightens up your pores.

This is a perfect and easy way to stay clear of unnecessary break outs, puffy eyes and dark circles so you have a fresh and flawless face every single day.

Here is how to make it

What you will need

1 large cucumber
2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves
2 1/2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

What to do
1. Place cucumber and mint into blender and puree.
2. Into a medium bowl add sugar, puree and olive oil. Stir.
3. Place into container and place in fridge until you want to use it.

I hope you give the Cucumber Mint Scrub a try, let me know what you think of it!

I believe in Pink...

For all of you that know me, you KNOW that I love Audrey Hepburn- from her clothes, to movies, to everything she stood for. Audrey once said, " I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in priming at leisure and wearing lipstick. I BELIEVE IN PINK. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing. Kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day. I believe in miracles."

I feel like whether you are an Audrey fan or not, you can relate to what she says in that quote. It is okay to spoil yourself and get your nails done, over dress to feel your best and finishing your look with your favorite lipstick. It is okay to embrace being girly and loving pink. It is healthy to laugh so hard your abs hurt. It is good to kiss because you are so in love. It is okay to be independent and strong, to many girls today aren't. It is okay to be giggle and happy, because a smile truly is the best accessory. It is okay to believe in tomorrows. And most of all, it is okay to believe that miracles happen.

I know I have said it before, but I cannot stress it enough - embrace who you are because you are irreplaceable. Surround yourself with people who want to lift you up and encourage you to grow. It is never to late to become who you want to be.

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday and remember to smile a little more, laugh a little harder and enjoy your upcoming weekend.
Thank you so much for reading!

Wash Your Worries Away With a Little Crochet...

|Swimsuit: I am loving this right now!|

Since living in California, I have definitely grown accustom to all the beautiful (and not so beautiful) beaches it has to offer. I am a strong believer that the salt water is the cure to anything; ocean, sweat or tears.
The beach has brought me nothing but positive energy. It has always been a worry free zone. I don't know if it is the ambiance, if it is the sand between my toes, the sound of the waves crashing down,  the sweet smell of salty air or a combination, but whatever it is I could not be more thankful to call it home. Growing up in Arizona, the beach wasn't ever an option to go to in my spare time. So now that I have Malibu, Laguna, New Port, Hermosa, Manhattan, Huntington or Santa Monica just a drive away, it's a luxury I am sure to take advantage of.

(now if only I used the time I spend at the beach working out, lol)

Living in my own apartment with my best friend is amazing, but being the independent, neat-freak that I am, "Me Days" are a must. There is no particular schedule to a "Me Day" but it usually involves coffee, a book, the beach or all three. So many times I end up at the beach because of the calm breeze and positive energy. Sometimes I need to have an little escape not because anything in particular happened, but to clear my mind and to truly appreciate all that I am fortunate to have.

Getting caught up in everyday life becomes overwhelming and consuming. Whether it's work or school or paying bills or balancing friends, etc - I find it crucial to take at least one day a month to do something on your own. Nothing crazy, but something. So often we get so concerned with everyone else that we forget how important it is to make sure our own needs are met.

Try it, take one day a month to do whatever will wash your worries away. It doesn't have to be  a beach or a lavish spa, it can be as simple as a morning walk or a dip in the pool - whatever you choose, relax and cleanse your mind. It does wonders not only on your self-esteem but also your physical appearance. You will be more calm, rejuvenated and ready to start the month with positive energy that will surly rub off on who you surround yourself with..

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

Colorful as a Crayon...

|Dress: old but similar| |Bag| |Sandals

So today my friend Kavita decided to go to Melrose for the afternoon to shop, talk and of course people watch. With both of us being lovers of fashion, people watching is one of the most fun things to do because we get to see what others are wearing, how they are wearing it etc.
Living in LA, there is a huge variety of people everywhere you go.

So often, we find ourselves judging others instead of appreciating that each and every one of us is unique.
I think we can learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull while others bright. Some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box.
In LA, there is a lot more publicly accepted freedom in how you choose to express yourself. I love living in place where no one is ashamed to be who they are.

I hope you all have a fabulous Saturday.
Thanks so much for reading!
