Today, one of my best friends and I decided to head to Malibu for the afternoon. My favorite beach in Malibu is El Matador, it's just minutes down the road of the main beach but with it's own hidden entrance it makes for the perfect escape.
We laid down our picnic blanket and began to catch up on  what we have missed in each other's lives the past couple of weeks. Before we knew it our talking became singing, our singing became dancing, our dancing became picture taking and of course, our picture taking turned into laughing!(sorry to all the people we annoyed with our constant snapchats, music and giggles)
I think there is a certain power in looking silly and not caring that you do, and let's be honest we aren't all as perfect as we portray on social media. We are humans! Which means... sometimes things aren't going to go as planned and sometimes we get so caught up in what others think of us, we forget what we think of ourselves.

So- I am here to show that as much as I love capturing the perfect photo and editing it just right to post on my blog, there is a certain beauty in the candids and the bloopers that aren't shown enough or even at all.
Nobody is perfect, we all have flaws! Why are we trying to blend in to social norms?
Don't be afraid to be silly or goofy... we all have our corks, so instead of hiding them, embrace them. Not only will you be more confident, but when others see that you are so comfortable in your own skin they are going to start following your example.

Self-confidence is the best outfit you can wear, so own it.

I hope you all have a great fri-YAY,
thanks so much for reading!

Today, My boyfriend and I went on another road trip this time to Hearst Castle. Before arriving, I had no idea what to expect besides what the website showed on the virtual tour. It was more beautiful in person than the websites photos, or even mine could do justice.
The details that went into each and every bit of this acreage is unbelievable. Whether it was the gold leaf pressed into tiles, the hand-painted and carved ceilings or the perfectly maintained gardens surround the whole property.
Needless to say, I was obsessed with every inch of this place and could not believe that one man with the help of an architect and the inspiration for a trip to Europe at age 10 could create such a beautiful escape.
It was another fabulous day at a California Landmark. I cannot wait to see more of what California has to offer.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.
Thank you so much for reading!

Stop and Smell the Roses...

So, today my boyfriend and I decided to take a mini road trip down to Solvang, California. The second we drove up, I felt like we were in a fairytale. The buildings are so unique, each a different color from the rest and the best part of this town is - you can bike the whole town in less than 30 minutes!
It was the perfect getaway from Los Angeles. No traffic, no schedule, just the day and a new town to explore. While we biked  through the town (which turned more into walking because we stopped so much to take pictures) we came across an open grassy field lined with a grey picket fence and red roses... and with that, I could not think of a better first post - "Stop and Smell the Roses".
In our case, it was literal, but in your day to day lives I just want to give you a simple reminder to take a step back from your busy schedules and appreciate how wonderful life truly is. There is always going to be bumps in the road, but just remember that we can either complain that roses have thorns or we can rejoice that the thorns have roses.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for reading!
